Report 2.5 English Learner Education Services – Unduplicated Count of Teachers Providing EL Services

(Updated as of 12/13/2023)

Description: Reports the unduplicated count of Teachers providing English Language Education Services to English Learners (ELs) with Enrollment Status Code of Primary, Secondary, or Short Term as of Census Day.

Report Type: ODS and Snapshot / Certification (Fall 2)

Security Roles: Fall 2 Reports

Data As Of:

  • If ODS version, user defined
  • If snapshot version, Fall 2 Census Day (First Wednesday in October)

Basic selection criteria:

Students Included:

  • Students with an open enrollment on the “Data As Of” date, where the Enrollment Status equals 10 (Primary), 20 (Secondary), or 30 (Short-Term) and is in Grade Levels TK, KN – 12
  • Students with an open English Learner (EL) SELA Status Code on the date of the report
  • SCSE enrollment in a qualifying course section (see Courses Included)

Teachers Included: For ODS staff employed on the “Data As Of” date; for Snapshot, staff employed on Census Day.

  • Valid SEID, NOT = 9999999999
  • SDEM record at LEA and School of Instruction
  • SASS record for the academic year identifying the staff as 12-Teacher, 26-Charter School Non-Certificated Teacher, and/or 27-Itinerent or Pull-out/Push-In Teacher
  • Teachers providing multiple EL Services are only counted in one service
  • If a course section has multiple teachers, count all teachers assigned to that course section as providing the EL Service associated with that course section.

Courses Included:

  • Valid SEID, NOT = 9999999999,
  • CRSE for academic year being reported
  • SCSE data for academic year being reported (enrollment in course section greater than 0)

  • CRSE course section with an Education Service Code of,

    • 1 – Primary Language Instruction and ELD Instruction and/or SDAIE Instruction
    • 2 – ELD Instruction Only
    • 3 – SDAIE Instruction Only
    • 4 – ELD Instruction and SDAIE Instruction But Not Primary Language Instruction
    • 6 – Other English Learner Services

  • Snapshot – Must have a SINF record that wholly or in part overlaps a qualified enrollment

Report Filters:

Filters can be selected resulting in only totals for the selected filter being displayed – legend on bottom of last page of report states which filter/s were selected.
