Students with Disabilities - Reports
(formerly known as Students with Disabilities)
This subgroup of students includes student participating in the Special Education program.
To be included in the subgroup, should meet the following conditions:
2023-2024 Onwards:

SWDS Record effective on or during the report period has Special Education Status = 1 (Eligible and Participating) and record(s) effective on the report date or during a report from and through date.
Identify using-
For SWDS - Sort Descending by Special Education Status Effective Start Date For PLAN - Sort Descending by Special Education Plan Effective Start Date For SERV - Sort Descending by Plan Effective Start Date
AND either
1) For Point in time - The record with the Effective Start Date immediately prior to or equal to the report date
OR
2) For Date range, cumulative records effective (i.e. records effective during a date range) - The record with the Effective Start Date immediately prior to or equal to the date range start date/report from date plus records where the effective start date is greater than the date range start date/report from date and <= the date range end date/report through date
Note - When sorting these records to determine which record is effective, they are sorted by SSID and the Effective Start Date. Reporting LEA should not be considered when determining which record is effective.
Beginning in 2019-20:
Identify SSID using:

(Education Plan Type (Field 14.24) = 100 (IEP/IFP), 150 (IFSP), or 200 (ISP),
AND
(Plan Set Start Date <= Reporting Period Through (End) Date and either ((Plan Set has no End date) or (Plan Set Exit Date >= Reporting Period From (Start) Date)))

Note - Beginning 2020-2021 reports, Triennial Records Meeting Type = 40 (Triennial) are no longer brought into the reporting Database and no longer used to determine active SPED students.
Prior to 2019-20 through 2022-2023:
Identify SSID using:

Education Program Code (Field 3.13) = 144 (Special Education)
AND
Education Program Membership Code (Field 3.14) = 1 or 3 (Eligible or Participating)
When used as an NCLB Subgroup, Enrollment Status Code (Field 1.24) must = 10 (Primary)
